Yarn Wrapped Mummies – Halloween Crafts

Do you like making Halloween crafts? Learn how to make these mummies and hang them wherever you want.

What you will need:

  • ice cream sticks
  • white wool
  • googly eyes
  • glue
  • scissors

Let’s do it!

  1. Choose three sticks: one for the upper body, another for the arms, and the last one for the legs. For the stick you will use for the arms, you can ask an adult to break it in half or bend it (not break it completely), as I do in the video. It’s the same for the legs.
  2. Take the stick that will be the upper body and choose the place where you will glue the arms. Leave a space at the top that will be the head. Glue the arms.
  3. Now take the stick to glue the legs to the lower part of the upper body.
  4. Glue some googly eyes on the place that will be the head. If you don’t have these eyes, you can draw them with a pen.
  5. Take the white wool and start rolling the sticks! In the end, leave a piece of wool behind the mummy’s head so you can hang it wherever you want.
  6. Tip: make several different mummies and hang them on a string, and you have a Halloween decoration.

Wrapping wool around the sticks is a good exercise for younger children to strengthen their fine motor skills.

Tip: If you don’t have ice cream sticks, you can take a card, draw a picture of a human body, cut it out, roll up the white wool, and have a mummy!
